Still Here... a recap of
Well it appears I haven’t posted here in quite a while. There is so much to update, but I wont attempt that in this post. Just know that there are quite a few things brewing. A list of my current Android apps
I’ve been using Android for about 2 months since I got back from our long trip to China and India. So far it has been a mostly positive experience. The Android Market can be a little hairy for new users. It isn’t very good at helping you find good apps. A good way to find useful apps are lists. So here is mine. I might go into more detail with reviews, but for now here are the apps I...

Veena master Kalpagam Swaminathan passed away
via thehindu.com It is another great loss to the Carnatic music world as Kalpagam Swaminathan passed away yesterday. Her playing had such a depth and profound emotional intensity. I know it will always live on with us. You can even listen to some of her renditions taken by other music masters and students on youtube. One example is this beautiful rendition in Surutti (a simply divine ragam)....

Dear Friends and listeners,You all know about the severe effects of the natural disaster that has occurred in Japan. I have contacted a few friends in Tokyo, Japan (I lived/worked there for a summer several years back) and luckily they are ok, though they hoped it would be over soon. The unique charm and warmth of the place has never left me. It’s hard to imagine this actually happening. ...
